British musician Brian May, a founding member and guitarist for the rock band Queen, has revealed that he experienced temporary partial paralysis of his left arm after suffering a ”minor stroke” last month. In a video published on his website, May shared the news with his fans. He expressed relief that he can still play the guitar despite the health scare. May explained that he suddenly lost control over his arm, which was quite frightening for him.
Following the incident, May was taken to Frimley Park Hospital in England where he received excellent care and attention. Despite being hesitant to share this experience with the public due to unwanted attention, May wanted to assure everyone that he is feeling much better now.
This is not the first time May has faced health issues in recent years. In 2020, he injured his gluteus maximus while gardening and had to undergo scans at a hospital. However, it was later discovered that his torn muscle was not causing all of his pain; instead, doctors found a compressed sciatic nerve.
May believes that years of playing guitar with a heavy instrument slung over his left shoulder may have contributed to this condition. Additionally, during this period of back pain, he also experienced a small heart attack. Fortunately, it did not cause any harm but led him to discover three congested arteries in danger of blocking blood supply to his heart.
To address this issue, May opted for three stents inserted into his heart rather than undergoing triple bypass surgery. He walked out of the hospital with a stronger heart and expressed confidence in good health for some time to come.
Despite these challenges and setbacks related to his health, Brian May remains optimistic about continuing music and performing for fans around the world.
